North Dakota cattle ranchers to host Healthcare Heroes Appreciation Day

Posted over 3 years ago

The North Dakota Stockmen’s Association (NDSA) and the North Dakota Beef Commission (NDBC), representing the state’s cattle ranchers, will salute the medical community at the first-ever North Dakota Beef Industry Healthcare Heroes Appreciation Day. The beef producer organizations will be saluting doctors, nurses and others in the healthcare industry on Friday, Sept. 11, with a complimentary lunch at the Bismarck Event Center’s Parking Lot C from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. CT. The Bismarck Event Center is located at 315 S 5th Street in Bismarck.

“North Dakota cattle ranchers look forward to this chance to say ‘thank you’ to those on the frontlines of the COVID pandemic and every day,” said NDSA President Dan Rorvig, a McVille, N.D., cow-calf producer. “We are grateful for all their extra efforts and regard healthcare professionals as our partners in keeping our community healthy. They provide critical medical care and we supply beef, a wholesome, nutritious food source for families.”

Slow-roasted roast beef, rolls, baked beans, fresh fruit and cookies are on the menu for the Healthcare Heroes Appreciation Day. The sponsoring organizations and boots-on-the-ground cattle ranchers, together with North Dakota State University’s Carnivore Catering, will be serving the lunchtime meal and extending their gratitude.

Complimentary tickets for healthcare professionals are available by registering here. Guests will choose from six seating/pickup times: 11 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 12 p.m., 12:30 p.m., 1 p.m. or 1:30 p.m. Tickets and reservations will be taken until Friday, Sept. 4, or until the slots are full. Guests are asked to print and present their tickets at the registration table at the event. The registration process will help organizers plan meals and seating, explained Rorvig, who noted the extra precautions that are being taken to keep everyone safe.

“Cattle ranchers are proud of the beef they raise and we will be proud to serve it as part of our Healthcare Heroes thank-you,” said NDBC Chairman Weston Dvorak, who ranches near Manning, N.D. “Beef is an excellent source of protein, supplies 10 essential nutrients, including B-vitamins, zinc and iron that support an active and healthy lifestyle, and tastes great besides.”
