Position Description

The mission of the College of Nursing and Professional Disciplines (CNPD) is to provide excellent and collaborative education, scholarship and service to advance human well-being for all, with an emphasis on rural and underserved populations. The College of Nursing & Professional Disciplines offers innovative online educational programs, a simulation laboratory, and a supportive student environment for both face-to-face and distance learning. Our federally funded Recruitment and Retention of American Indians into Nursing (RAIN) Program has successfully recruited, retained and graduated 256 BSN, 85 MS, and 3 DNP prepared American Indian nurses. The College of Nursing and Professional Disciplines highly values diversity in our faculty, students and staff at all levels of instructional support.

The University of North Dakota College of Nursing and Professional Disciplines (CNPD), which is comprised of the departments of Nursing, Nutrition and Dietetics, and Social Work, seeks a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure track Clinical Assistant Professor who will be appointed as the Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) Certificate Program Director.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Teaching and Advising Students in the AGACNP track (includes advising). Potential courses to be taught include:
    • NURS 618 Diagnostics & Therapeutics for AGACNP
    • NURS 619 Adult-Gerontology Acute Care I
    • NURS 620 Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Practicum
    • NURS 621 Adult-Gerontology Acute Care II
    • NURS 505 Advanced Pharmacology
    • NURS 510/511 Advanced Physiology/Pathophysiology
    • NURS 585 Advanced Health Assessment
  • Serve as AGACNP Certificate Program Director
    • The AGACNP Certificate Program Director has primary responsibility to provide leadership for the overall planning, organization, and evaluation of the AGACNP Program.
    • This faculty member works collaboratively with administrators and faculty in assuring the provision of a high-quality academic program.
    • The AGACNP Certificate Program Director is a member of the Nursing Graduate Council.
    • The director is under the supervision of the Chair of the Graduate Nursing Department and is responsible for assuring that standards and policies of the School of Graduate Studies are met. 
  • Service to the University, College and/or Department
    • Specific duties will be coordinated with the department chair.
